Abstract

In this paper experiments were conducted Al-Si alloy plate. Mentioned alloy has growing range of applications in aerospace and automobile sectors. Scope of Al-Si plate is significant in various industries but it is very difficult to machine. This paper shows experimental work carried out on Al-Si alloy varying various process parameters like current, discharge current, pulse on time, etc. Design of experiment were designed using response surface methodology and analysis were done on minitab software. In current research work, experiments were conducted adding copper powder in dielectric medium. Results were studied for material removal rate (MRR), tool wear rate (TWR), surface roughness (SR) and micro hardness (MH). It was observed that current and pulse on time plays vital roles for MRR, TWR, SR and MH.
