Abstract

On April 23, 2018, Governor Pete Ricketts signed LB 670, a bill which contains several important provisions related to individuals seeking Special Immigrant Juvenile (SIJ) predicate findings before Nebraska state courts. The relevant sections of LB 670 discussed in this practice advisory originated from LB 826, a bill introduced by Senator Tony Vargas. This Practice Advisory analyzes the importance of the new law for Nebraska practitioners and offers tips for seeking these findings for eligible juvenile clients.
