Abstract

Centers for/of excellence in teaching and learning are established in some universities in Bangladesh to develop the pedagogical knowledge and skills of university faculty members. Most CETLs are still thriving to plan, implement and continue its training. This paper aims to develop a training model for university teachers in Bangladesh. Workshop as a research methodology has been used where 20 academics of a public university from different teaching departments participated. It recommends- a) a pedagogical training of 30 hours before the beginning of the semester of the trainee; b) peer teaching with high performing colleagues during the semester; c) maintain a journal for self-reflection and; d) deliver a sharing seminar at the end of the training period.
