Abstract
This paper discusses the potential threat posed by Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and the need for a positive right to both detect and take action against UAS. The legal impediments to counter-UAS and UAS detection systems in New Zealand are examined, and legislation is proposed to address those impediments.
