German Abstract: Zu den völkergewohnheitsrechtlichen Aspekten des Syrienkrieges: von der Anerkennung syrischer Rebellen im Rahmen des Interventionsverbots (inklusive Aufrufe zum Rücktritt in Richtung Assad), das Gewaltverbot mitsamt der Bewaffnung und Ausbildung von Rebellen, das Konzept der humanitären Intervention, Intervention auf Einladung und das Recht auf Selbstverteidigung.

English Abstract: This paper deals with the role of customary international law in the Syria conflict: It covers the non-intervention principle (recognition of armed opposition groups and calls for regime change), the prohibition of force including arming and training of rebels, the concept of humanitarian intervention, intervention by invitation, and the right to self-defence.
