Abstract

Revisits the account of tolerance offered in the author's 1996 paper, "The Difficulty of Tolerance," adding further material on (1) the character of individuals' interest in "what their society is like," (2) the range of individuals to whom tolerance in this sense is owed, and (3) possible implications for immigration policy.
