Abstract

Singapore is an amazing city island state of entrepreneurism, with clusters of high rise housing and financial buildings, a viable mass transit system, smooth flowing traffic, clean streets, and wealth. Constraints exist because of the island's small size, but also because the one-party government has restricted individual freedoms since independence, including restrictions on car ownership with most property owned by the government. It works for Singapore, but not the United States.
