Abstract
The Great Lakes - St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Compact in 2008 ushered in a new era of water management and conservation in the Great Lakes region. This report provides a state-by-state assessment of how the eight Great Lakes states -- Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin -- are carrying out the water management, conservation and efficiency provisions of the Compact. While overall the assessment is positive, for each state the report identifies areas in which implementation should be improved.
