Abstract

In recent years, human rights concerns have gained attention in the maritime sector, including in the legal community dedicated to serving the maritime industry and the people who work on it. So far, the fisheries industry is often lagging behind in this development. Human rights abuses remain a challenge for the fisheries industry in many parts of the world. This article looks at the current situation, the applicable international legal framework and the potential for future developments.
