The Open Search Test Framework for RELX

The LexisNexis Search Test Framework (STF) is an extensible, cloud-based tool for quantitative testing of search relevance data. Since it was launched in September of 2017, STF has supported LexisNexis (LN) products that use the MarkLogic search engine. OpenSTF is the next generation testing tool; it has several new features and breaks two important barriers. First, acknowledging broad demand within LN to use Elasticsearch and Solr, and with an eye to the future, OpenSTF now supports search applications running on Solr and Elasticsearch as well as on MarkLogic. Second, OpenSTF has a new distributed architecture that allows it to work with applications from both LexisNexis and Elsevier. This presentation will describe the new features in OpenSTF as well as how OpenSTF broke through the barriers to support all of RELX’s search applications.
