Abstract
Gradually increased interdependence with developed countries should be a part of Mexico's comprehensive development plan. The purpose of this article is not to question the wisdom of using direct foreign investment to improve Mexico's present dire situation. Rather, it questions the wisdom of the manner in which Mexico has invited new foreign investment.
