Abstract

In recent days ac drives play an important role in many industries. Most of the AC drives employ PWM technology for switching. For medium voltage high power machines two level inverter alone cannot provide required output to run machines. In this paper a novel method is proposed of Phase Opposition Disposition Pulse Width Modulation (PODPWM) signal generation for a reduced switch multilevel inverter. The experiment is carried out in MATLAB SIMULINK environment. This paper also shows the effect of modulation index (MI) on multilevel inverter.
