Abstract

The number of accidents in the mining industry is reportedly increasing. Internet of things (IoT) can be explored for monitoring mines, but analysis and predictions can prevent accidents. The main parameters that increase the possibility of accidents are worker experience, age factor, shift time, and stress of worker. An IoT based Mining System can help in tracking the movements of the workers in the mine while using cloud intelligence, and accidents can be predicted and thus avoided. The paper presents a novel fuzzy based technique to predict the possible occurrence of accidents.
