Mellody Hobson: Diversifying Personnel as Well as Portfolios

Abstract

Mellody Hobson is president and co-chief executive officer of Ariel Investments, where she is responsible for firm-wide management and strategic planning, overseeing all operations outside of research and portfolio management. Additionally, she serves as chairman of the board of trustees for Ariel Investment Trust.

In June 2018, Mellody Hobson spoke with members of the Journal of Investment Consulting Editorial Advisory Board about why diversification among corporate leaders and investment consultants is as vital as portfolio diversification.
