Abstract

Two hard to solve problems in search are slow queries and optimizing memory usage. Out of box memory analysis tools don’t help much in revealing which Lucene code or query is troublesome. Recently we have used Plumber which has helped reduce query response time for some queries from more than 4 seconds to 800 ms. Plumber has also help fix out of memory issues. In this talk we present some of the tools and techniques employed to mitigate these problems.
