Biocomputational Approach for the Effective Treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease

Abstract

Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a irreversible progressive neurodegenerative disorder which is associated with presence of senile plaques in the hippocampal region of the brain. Till date, there is no cure for Alzheimer's disease but medications that may temporarily help in improving symptoms are available. The molecular docking studies of phytochemicals and their derivatives with protein beta amyloid that involved in the Alzheimer's disease, is carried out by using biocomputational approach. The study indicates the importance of phytochemicals and their derivatives in regard to their use to effectively treat Alzheimer's disease. Molecular docking calculations and interaction studies help to predict as well as evaluate the effectiveness of the phytochemicals and their derivatives.
