The discovery of oil and gas in Kenya in 2012 by Tullow Oil provide a great opportunity to Kenya to position itself as an economic hub. However, the discovery comes with a number of challenges ranging from lack of capacity, political activism, and weak revenue collecting system, corruption, negative environmental concerns amongst others.
