This series of short, article-by-article commentaries cover Chapter III of the Convention on the Settlement of International Investment Disputes (ICSID Convention). Article 28-35 of the ICSID Convention establish a regime for the conciliation of investment disputes between foreign investors and their nationals. It covers the institution of conciliation proceedings (Article 28); the constitution of conciliation commissions (Articles 29-31); the commission’s competence (Article 32); the conduct of the conciliation and its procedure (Article 33); and the function and operation of conciliation commissions (Article 34).
