Abstract

In the recent market trends, there are many technological gadgets that have been introduced in which wearable devices are in high demand. Wearable technology is one of the greatest inventions and boon to consumers as well as health practitioners. Many of the individuals have adopted smart watches, fitness trackers, pedometers and wrist bands in the past four years. These wearable devices have been providing a constant stream of data to the users regarding their state of health including a number of steps taken, distance covered, stairs taken, calories burned, sleep pattern amongst many others. This paper explores the validity of the data and its effect on the health of an individual. The paper reviews the current available literature on the effect of the wearable devices on the physical activity and improvement of health parameters.
