Abstract
Actinobacteria are mostly present into the soil and they are Gram’s positive, filamentous, sporulatind organisms. They produce various biologically active compounds like enzymes, vitamins and antibiotics. Plant Growth Promoting (PGP) actinobacteria colonizes with the root system. They are able to improve plant growth, increase soil fertility, enhance the yield and reduce the pathogens. In the present study, the rhizopsheric actinobacterial strain KhEc 12 was isolated from plant Euphorbiacaducifolia L. collected from Kharaghoda located nearby Little Rann of Kutch, Gujarat (India). The isolate was screened for its in vitro PGP attributes such as production of ammonia, production of indole acetic acid (IAA), production of siderophore and solubilization of orthophosphate. The primary results indicated applications of rhizopsheric actinobacterial strain KhEc 12 in agriculture field as it improves the plant growth In-vivo and reduces the activity of plant pathogens.
