פוסט ופוסט-טראומה: עיבוד רגשות של נפגעות תקיפה מינית בהליך הפלילי ובפייסבוקPost-Trauma and Post: Emotional Processing of Sexual Assault Victims in Criminal Proceedings and on Facebook

Abstract

תקציר בעברית: מאמר זה מבקש לחשוף לראשונה את החוויות הרגשיות של נפגעות עברות מין שבחרו לחשוף את סיפור הפגיעה המינית שלהן במסגרת השיח המתנהל ברשתות החברתיות על פגיעות מיניות. המאמר משווה, בזהירות המתחייבת, בין חוויות הנפגעות בתהליך החשיפה במרחב המקוון לבין חוויותיהן במפגש עם מערכת אכיפת החוק. ממצאי המאמר מבוססים על ראיונות עומק שנערכו בשנים 2018-2016, לפני ואחרי פרוץ קמפיין ה-#MeToo, עם עשרים נפגעות ונפגעי תקיפה מינית שפרסמו את סיפור פגיעתם בפייסבוק. ממצאי המחקר חושפים "תמונת ראי" בין החוויות הרגשיות השליליות של נפגעות שפנו למערכת אכיפת החוק לבין החוויות הרגשיות החיוביות שהן תיארו כחלק מתהליך העיבוד של הטראומה בעקבות חשיפת סיפור הפגיעה שלהן בפייסבוק. מרבית הנפגעות חוו רגשות שנעו בין כאב אישי, תסכול, אכזבה וזעם על מערכת המשפט הפלילי לבין ציפייה, הקלה, סיפוק ותקווה בתהליך העיבוד של הטראומה בפייסבוק. על בסיס הנרטיבים שעלו מדברי הנפגעות, המאמר מסרטט מודל המורכב מחמישה ממדים לעיבוד טראומה בפייסבוק באורח שאינו מתאפשר, לדברי מרבית הנפגעות, במגעיהן עם רשויות אכיפת החוק. אלה חמשת הממדים: הפגת הבושה וההאשמה העצמית, קבלת תמיכה קהילתית, קבלת ידע, החזרת השליטה והעצמה אישית הנוצרת באמצעות אימוןMentoring)) שמתקיים בין נפגעות לנפגעות אחרות.

English Abstract: This study seeks to explore, for the first time, the emotional experiences of sexual-assaults survivors who chose to participate in the social media discourse on sexual assault in Israel and share their testimonies of alleged sexual offenses committed against them. The project also seeks to compare, with the necessary caution, between the emotional process that survivors have experienced during their online exposure and the emotional process they have gotten through in the criminal justice system. This study is based on in-depth interviews with 20 sexual assaults survivors who published their testimonies on Facebook. The interviews were conducted between 2016-2018 before and after the #MeToo campaign. The findings reveal a "mirror image" between the negative experience of sexual assault victims with the criminal justice system and the positive experiences of online processing of sexual trauma. Our interviewees have experienced pain, frustration, disappointment and rage over the criminal justice system. In contrast, they claim that their participation on Facebook discourses grants a new meaning, alleviation and hope for the life after the trauma. Based on the thematic analysis of the interviews with the survivors, we have conceptualized a model of five dimensions of online processing of sexual trauma which is not probable in the legal process. This model comprises of relief from shame and self-guilt; receiving empathy and support; regaining control; information sharing, and empowerment through mentorship.
