Abstract
This paper presents four types of filtering techniques that have been used in the recommender systems (RS). The techniques which have been taken into considerations for the study are collaborative filtering, content-based filtering, demographic filtering and knowledge-based filtering. Further, we have compared them with each other on the basis of input collection, process, and output as a recommendation.
