Abstract

An experiment was conducted at the Department of Horticulture, Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, during December 2012 to January 2013 following Completely Randomized Design with three replications to extend the vase life of cut white snowball chrysanthemum. Five treatments were exerted in experiment, i.e., tap water (Control, C0); distilled water (C1); 100-ppm sucrose solution (C2); 100-ppm Lemon juice solution (C3) and 100-ppm Sucrose + Lemon juice solution (C4). 100-ppm of sucrose + lemon juice solution (C4) provided fresh weight loss (7.0 g), days taken for first petal fall (5.0 days), days taken for petal discoloration (8.7 days) and longevity (13.0 days) whereas maximum flower head diameter (92.2 mm) was found in 100-ppm lemon juice solution (C3) which was statistically similar with C4 (90.8 mm).
