Abstract

What lessons could we learn from China’s responses to both the public health emergency and the subsequent potential economic and financial crises? In this paper, we chart a timeline of the coronavirus outbreak in China and the government’s responses. We also offer a case study of how the outbreak has affected small businesses (SMEs) to illustrate the economic policy implications of the COVID-19 crisis.
