Abstract

Health Science Case Reports in general, and COVID-19 case report preprints in particular, are a valuable resource for medical researchers and clinicians. COVID-19 case reports include patients with either a positive COVID-19 test or a probable exposure (living or working in close proximity to someone with a positive test). Accurate and transparent COVID-19 case reports combined with prospective clinical research following health research reporting guidelines from EQUATOR (equator-network.org) support researchers developing clinical trials as well as clinicians delivering healthcare. This checklist is designed to systematically and accurately capture data on COVID-19 cases and help authors write systematic, accurate and transparent case report preprints aligned with the CARE (care-statement.org) guidelines. This checklist is compatible with LEOSS (leoss.net), the publicly funded European COVID-19 registry.
