Abstract
In the present day, the significance and popularity of English as a lingua franca cannot be denied or overlooked. English is the most commonly spoken language globally and serves as a major gateway to the modern world. Our discussion extensively focuses on the global influence of the language, covering its colonial, native, economic, and academic aspects. We delve into how English became one of the official languages in India and its impact on law, business, economics, science, and social sciences. Additionally, we explore the forms and variations of English across different European countries, considering its history and evolution within a colonial context.
In the latter part of our discussion, we examine in detail the impact of English in the field of science.
