Abstract

In this paper we have employed a heart beat, temperature and respiration monitoring system using the Internet of things. Nowadays we have an enhanced number of heart as well as respiration related problems regarding high risks of health problems. The sensor we have used in our paper is connected to a microcontroller which allows us to check the heartbeat readings along with respiration and temperature readings and it also uploads the results using thingspeak platform to our web application that is furthermore displayed on our mobile screen. The user here also has an advantage to set low or high limits of heartbeat, respiration or temperature according to his need. After the limits have been set up, the system starts observing the person’s readings, if readings cross over the dedicated limit, an alert is sent to the controller chip, which then takes action by transmitting this over the internet as soon as possible and also alerts your medical representative and the person himself. Whenever a person tries to calculate his readings, the system displays the live heart rate, respiration rate and body temperature of the patient on his mobile screen. Thus people who are concerned with their readings may get an alert of any risk related to their health and thus medical consultation would be provided as soon as possible which may lead to saving many lives. Thus implementation of such a system is very necessary in today’s world as it provides services at your doorstep with such an ease.
