ALLENS: an IoT Platform for Predictive Maintenance

Abstract

ALLENS is an Industrial IoT and Big Data-based platform developed from the ground-up using cutting-edge tools and technologies to enable intelligent connectivity of multiple smart devices, using internet network. To achieve this, the software system uses smart sensors and actuators connected together through gateways and relays in order to transmit critical acquisitions information to a data hub for further processing and analysis. After the data is being processed and transformed, through the resulting insights, it becomes viable for predictive maintenance. The aforementioned concept falls under the field of Industry 4.0, more specifically Maintenance 4.0 (i.e. precisely PdM 4.0); which is a new field of expertise that uses a combination of novel smart technologies to create value from the row data produced in industrial settings through the utilization of advanced data analytics and machine learning algorithms developed in-house from the ground-up.
