Abstract

English abstract: Spain has a traumatic relationship with its own civil war, not to mention with Franquism. The latter is, for the official discourse of the present political régime the abject personification of evil. This official version of history is promoted by the leftist government as the only true one, and there are plans for its imposition as the only authorized one. In 2020, with Franco already unburied and reburied, after the official ritual of humiliation and public abjection, we go back to two retro-posts from 2010, dealing with the 2006 book 'Guerra Civil: Mito y Memoria', edited by Julio Aróstegui and François Godicheau. Retrospection always gives rise to insight, on the past, on the present, and on oneself.
