Abstract
The Alberta population of westslope cutthroat trout is in severe decline, despite the fact the species is listed as a threatened species under provincial and federal endangered species legislation in Canada. This paper is a case study which describes the recovery framework for the westslope cutthroat trout and gives a critical assessment of its development and ineffectiveness.
