Abstract

Dozens of uncontrolled usage of non-renewable energy sources redirect designers to re-think about building design as a complex optimization problem. Thus, sustainable strategies not only can be a great help for having e-energy in the building industry if only they consider the roles of user behavior in preserving energy, but they also will reduce the climate change effect.
In the following essay, the impact of user behavior upon design factors of the building’s envelope is classified into three main groups. (1) Thermal comfort is expressed in two separate parts thermal insulation and thermal mass. (2) The next group is about variable points of both opening and shading components. Since they could manage the amount of light and heat in all seasons of the year. (3) Another group illustrates the expenses of initial investment and life-cycle costs of the projects.
In addition, there are two parts related to the characteristics of the materials and ventilation used in the building. Because many of the previous topics have been linked to these two issues. As a result, the information would not lead to a reduction in the primary energy demand of building unless with computing and communication technology.
