Abstract

Negative empirical claims about same-sex couples, such as the notion that gay people cannot sustain lasting relationships, have been refuted. In response, contemporary arguments against same-sex marriage deftly avoid making any empirical claims at all. This paper examines these arguments and shows the costs of this growing insulation from reality.
