Abstract
This paper coins and explains the concept of The New Common, as the quest for and transition towards a stronger and more inclusive togetherness following the COVID-19 crisis. It explores how a New Common could overcome the flaws of the Old Common by benefiting from the digital transformation and enhancing the role of the region in the political, economic, and social governance of society (“glocalisation”), taking the human measure and scale as the point of departure.
Keywords: COVID-19; COVID-19 crisis; new common; inclusion; exclusion; transformations; transitions
