Abstract

The application of a science-based ideology offering the path forward for a society choosing the moral foundation of ensuring all new-born infants are enabled to seek and build their unique spiritual fulfillment. I define this type of society as the open society, after Popper.

Specifically, this is a letter distributed by email, copied to senior politicians and journalists, to senior Maori leadership in New Zealand requesting they move beyond partisan political position, apply reason beyond that so far exhibited, and choose with greater care the ideas to be applied in pursuit of a better society for all.

This, an example of the application of the first science of social development. The letter offers the ideation derived from science to build a free, diverse, inclusive society. The lack of response reflecting the depth self-serving attitudes born of conceited opinion devoid of reason and science and illustrates the real issue with social change to build a better society.

Keywords: constitution of freedom, obstacles to social change, modern ethics, modern social role models
