Abstract
This paper aims to study the counter-symbolic significance of the International Association of Hyperpolyglots within the scope of polyglot “showmanship” as evidenced in the electronic mediascape. Reflecting on the self-promoting individualistic element in the psyche of the marketing-polyglots, the paper finds that the counter-symbolic value of a collective generates its own symbolic capital for the association.
