Abstract

In June 2018, during the demanding home stretch of that year’s U.S. Supreme Court’s term, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg came to speak to Judges and many lawyers at the Second Circuit Conference in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Following her speech, I witnessed her interaction, in the conference center’s back hallway, with three star-struck girls. This essay describes the moment, which I also captured in a photograph published here.

Keywords: Justice Ginsburg; Ruth Bader Ginsburg; Notorious RBG; feminism; equality; Second Circuit; Circuit Justice
