Abstract

English Abstract: In this essay, Wassily Leontief et la science économique (ENS Editions, 2019), we saw that the work of those who, like Leontief, Samuelson or Solow, rejected general equilibrium macroeconomics with a representative agent and its hypothesis of rational expectations, were nevertheless not unrelated to the path that led to the emergence and the flourishing of this approach. From the methodological issues examined in this essay, we can advance some (informed) speculations as to how the work of Leontief, Samuelson and Solow unwittingly contributed to the emergence of DSGE models, if not made it possible. This will bring to light, in the case of Samuelson and Solow, the fragility and the contradictions to which the testability criterion and the notion of "realism" of the theory lead.
