Management Strategies of the Art Community in Supporting Cultural Advancement in Magelang Regency

Abstract

The Enactment of Republic of Indonesia of Act Number 5 of 2017 about the Advancement of Culture states that the central government and local government are required to undertake the maintenance of cultural advancement objects. Good cooperation is needed so that the cultural ecosystem can run synergistically. Magelang Regency is one of the regions in Indonesia that have many art communities. The existence of various art communities in the Magelang Regency is a valuable asset in the advancement of culture. This research aims to answer how the strategy is applied by the organizer of the art community in supporting the advancement of culture In Magelang Regency. To conduct the advance study of the problems was used Qualitative approach by using the data collection of observation, interview, and literature study. Data resources were obtained in the research location by deciding the competent key person and written data resources that are appropriate and relevant. The results of this research showed that the art community needs to select the strategy in using the power (strength) to face all of the threats by understanding the markets, developing the creativity, and innovating the creation. In addition, the art community strategy also thought about the educational form of good engagement among local societies, governments and the organizers of the art communities.
