Abstract

The researches revolving around (in)equality and music composition have been concentrating on two strands: one focused on the inequality phenomenon of female composers’ status, rights and opportunities in music historiography and the other one focused on the essence of this inequality phenomenon. More and more Chinese female composers are extremely active in international stage. Especially, those composers who were born around 1970s including Cheng Huihui, Tian Leilei, Du Yun, Wang Ying are the well-known Chinese female composers in recent years around the world. This research will reveal along with the equality and inequality phenomenon of the contemporary Chinese female composers and how equality and inequality to be reflected in their works.
