Abstract

These changes were suggested under obscure conditions, without consulting the judges and prosecutors, representing a return to certain provisions the removal of which had been supported by the entire judicial body during the 2007-2009 period and which were strongly criticised in the reports on the judicial system as part of the justice monitoring efforts via the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM) agreed upon between the European Union and Romania.
