Abstract

The evolution of the Romanian Superior Council of Magistracy in recent years displays ineffectiveness, indifference (or even suspicions of political bias (according to the European Commission, SCM sometimes raised concern that it might be subject to political influences; as revealed by the seven SCM members, signatories of the request to dismiss the Council president, SCM has discredited the bodies that issued international reports, making unsubstantiated claims that they had committed factual errors).

Keywords: Romanian Superior Council of Magistracy; judges; European Commission
