Abstract

Javanese have an interesting perspective on objects and events, including batik. Batik's existence has proven to be relevant and contextual to present which is referred to as various kinds of specific perspectives, one of which is the artificial intelligence era. Batik is a traditional cultural product as a form of wise thought processes producing local wisdom as well as natural intelligence. Batik as an intangible culture has flexibility adaptation to the changes through adoption, acculturation, and transformation. This research purpose is to describe and formulate the batik background referred to as natural intelligence so that it persists and becomes a counterweight to artificial intelligence existence. This qualitative research used the Javanese perspective on dualism, by data analyzing presented in a documentative and literary. The study results mentioned that natural intelligence in a piece batik process has spiritual, contemplative, and gradual elements that become balancing for artificial intelligence’s logical, instant, dan concrete character. Batik's existence and other cultural products have urgencies to maintain its sustainability because it is a proven ability to balance the adverse effects of a constantly changing era.
