Abstract

The quasi-experimental research was approached in this study through participatory learning method. The objectives of this research were included 1) providing an alternative option in using raw material produced in Thailand, 2) analyzing the lithograph artwork created by ink receiver replacing red lacquer, and 3) further developing printmaking study in Thailand. The samples were consisted of lithograph artists and 10 undergraduate students from Fine Arts Department, Faculty of Architecture, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. The data collecting instruments were the artists and students’ creative works as well as questionnaire survey. The results indicated that the artworks were absolutely completed in terms of line and volume after applying the greasy stick drawing and the use of stick tusche and water, whereas, the increased oil ingredient of the stick tusche and turpentine, and the stick tusche and thinner have made images overly darken. Moreover, questionnaire revealed that it was easily wash and smell less than red lacquer. Hence, the outcome of actual learning and creating confirmed that it could be used to replace red lacquer effectively which becomes the new body of knowledge in printmaking in Thailand.
