Abstract

The evolution of environmental jurisprudence has obtained a significant place in various research activities across the globe. As a result, theories were developed that gained the shape of laws and principles. The concern to protect and preserve the environment for both present and future generations gained popularity amongst the Indian Judges who showed tremendous activeness through their enlightened judgments while deciding various cases before them. The Indian Judiciary even went to the extent of recognizing the Right to a Clean Environment as a Fundamental Right and this trend of Judiciary was followed in several cases. This paper will briefly highlight a few of such cases through which the Right to Environment was made a Fundamental Right in India.
