Abstract

Virginia's General Assembly recently amended the statute governing interlocutory appeals to eliminate language creating a one-party veto and to permit interlocutory review of orders granting or denying immunity. Combined with the 2021 legislation creating appeals of right in the Court of Appeals of Virginia and a recent decision permitting interlocutory review of an extraordinary writ, this procedural overhaul has made interlocutory review more accessible than ever before in Virginia.
