Abstract

The article describes the experience of organizing the research work which is carried out by master’s students at the program “Training of translators for international organizations” (program track “Linguistics”) at MGIMO-University. The article demonstrates the specifics of this master’s program, considers the problems of organizing the scientific research process, which are faced not only by undergraduates, but also their scientific supervisors, and it also identifies the difficulties in conducting an independent scientific research by a master’s student. The article also provides the main evaluation criteria of a master’s thesis, the requirements for a public speech delivered by a master’s student during the procedures for admission to the defense and defense of a master’s thesis itself, and it also recommends the Scientific Research Schedule.
