Abstract

In this work, we use Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) to elucidate the mechanics of technology cost improvement, adoption and employment impact models as well as key sources of uncertainty in these models. We argue for caution in interpreting the results, especially for large-scale, long-term planning. We also suggest possible models for identifying higher vulnerability communities due to technology transition and building community resilience through a case study of South East Michigan.
