Abstract

This chapter provides a concise overview of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights. It includes a discussion of its legal framework, organization, procedures, landmark cases and mechanisms for enforcing its decisions. The chapter considers the position of the African Court vis-à-vis other African Union institutions and the different contributions of the African Court to enrich the corpus of African human rights law.
