Abstract

Why hasn't Chegg, the largest and most successful online contract-cheating platform in the world, been shut down yet? The remainder of this paper contains three parts, plus an Appendix. Part 1 surveys the seller side of the illicit market created by Chegg, while Part 2 explores the buyer side. Part 3 concludes with some observations about a recent case involving a grade-selling scheme. The Appendix then sets forth a model criminal complaint against Chegg.
