Abstract
This study examined the effect of entrepreneurial competency on competitive advantage of hotels in Nigeria. The population of the study consisted of forty (40) managers of small and medium sized hotels operating in Abuja. This study made used cross sectional survey research design. The study made use of primary source of data through structured questionnaire. Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to test the study hypotheses, with the help of SPSS 25.0. The study revealed that the entrepreneurial competencies of organizations can result in the competitive advantage of the firm if appropriately harnessed. Organizations that engage in the effective use of entrepreneurial competency have competitive advantage in their given industry. The study concluded that planning/management, mobilizing resources as well as learning through experience enhance competitive advantage of hotels in Nigeria. The study therefore recommended that hotel organizations should invest in training of their employees, as the human resource is an important internal strength of every organization and organizations should involve professionals who have experience in their work areas in order to increase the level of entrepreneurial competencies that lead to competitive advantage of the organization.
